His expertise, gained from many years at the core of his family business, Universal Garden, directly enhances our ability to deliver fresh, seasonal Italian produce with efficiency and consistency.
Founded in 1999 by Alessandro’s father, Filippo Assenza, Universal Garden built its reputation on sourcing exceptional Italian fresh produce directly from growers and bringing authentic Italian quality to UK kitchens. Alessandro joined the business in 2009, helping to grow its relationships with producers and deepen its sourcing capabilities.
Now, through Italian Fresh, Alessandro’s passion, experience, and direct farm-to-kitchen sourcing significantly strengthen our offerings—allowing us to provide you with even more high-quality, seasonal Italian products with the care and reliability you expect.
